Day 1 – Rome
Upon your arrival at the Rome Airport, find our driver waiting to welcome you to Italy and escort you to the car for the transfer the hotel in Rome downtown. The driver will be the person who will accompany you throughout all these days and be your personal assistant for any need. Today, take advantage of a day at leisure, so rest up as you prepare to embark on your Italian adventure! For your first dinner our driver will be pleased to suggest and reserve a good restaurant for you!.
Day 2 – Ancient Rome Tour
A fascinating private half day 4 hours tour of the wonders of the Ancient Romans with your driver and our local guide. You will be transported back to the days of the Caesars and the Roman legions as you visit the Circus Maximus, site of Ben Hur style races, the Roman Forum, and the incomparable Colosseum. Afternoon is at your leisure for relax and shopping…
Day 3 – Vatican Tour & others
Meet at 9am the driver and the local guide for your fascinating 3 hours private tour of the Vatican that starts in the galleries of the Vatican Museum, home to the most celebrated art collection in Europe. The museum tour ends in the spectacular Sistine Chapel, the extreme expression of Michelangelo’s genius. Last but not least, you will visit the largest sanctuary of Christianity, St. Peter’s Basilica, where proportions appear to have been forgotten in an amazing triumph of marble, bronze and mosaic works. After a quick lunch continue the day visiting some of the most beautiful Roman squares and fountains, end with a visit at the Trastevere district, the most characteristic part of Rome. Finish the tour by 4pm.
Day 4 – Rome – Tuscany
After check out from your hotel, depart with your driver to Tuscany at 9am. The journey will include a stop at the medieval town of Montepulciano! As you climb towards the town you will start to appreciate its breathtaking beauty. Once at its summit you will be dazzled by the wonderful view of the beautiful Senese hills and the mountains of the Amiata….With the guidance of our driver explore this enchanting town walking on the narrow streets surrounded by charming palazzi… The town is also famous for its signature wine, the vino Nobile, recognized globally as one of the worlds great wines. A tasting of Vino Nobile wine will be included. After the visit you will continue to your accommodation in Siena, drop off at 5pm.
Day 5 – Siena
In the morning, meet our local guide for an informative 3 hours walking tour of the medieval jewels of Siena: declared as the World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Its soaring skyline is its pride, dominated by the Gothic cathedral (Duomo) and the taut needle of the Torre del Mangia and yet the shell shaped Piazza del Campo, probably captures the most attention and fame. It has been seen in films, photographs, and advertising campaigns. The bricks cover the sweetly sloping land underneath and are witness to many events in history, but the most intriguing is the “Palio” horserace, one of the most important things in the life of a Siena native. The balance of the day is at your leisure.
Day 6 – Chianti and Florence
Depart at 9am with your driver for a full day excursion into the celebrated Chianti Wine Region, an area as much renowned for its natural beauty, breathtaking views, as well as for its excellent wines. You will stop in the ancient village of Tornano where time appears to have stoped in the middle ages. Here at the Castello di Tornano you will visit its vineyards and winery. In the old prison of the Castello which now houses its superbe wine cellar, you will taste of 3 local wines and Olive oil as well as local salami and cheese. The rest of the day will include a visit to the small towns of Greve, Panzano, Mntefioralle. Continue to the beautiful renaissance city of Florence, drop off at your new hotel by 5pm.
Day 7 – Florence Tour
At 9am our private local guide will meet you at your hotel for a 3 hours walking tour of the old city. Florence’s rich past as the cultural centre of the Italian Renaissance can still be seen today in the wealth of art gathered here and in the preservation of its splendid architecture. The tour includes visits of the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, and the famous Accademia Gallery. Balance of day at your leisure. Optional Uffizi gallery reservations or guided tour are available.
Day 8 – Pisa and Lucca
Pick up at 9am from your hotel to reach Lucca in about 1 hour drive. Once in Lucca, among the attractions not to be missed, the church of San Michele in Foro, the church of San Giovanni e Reparata and the famous Cathedral of San Martino which chapel, built by Matthew Civitali holds the sculpture of the Holy Face. An last but not least, certainly one of the features that make the city of Lucca unique in the world, Torre Guinigi: 44 metres high with a magnificent oak planted on its summit. Free time for visits and for your lunch, our driver will suggest a good restaurant located in the heart of the old city. After about 3 hours in Lucca continue the trip going to Pisa: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Leaning Tower and the Campo Santo (or cemetery), together form one of the most beautiful and famous building groups in the world. The “Piazza dei Miracoli” makes a perfect showplace for these exquisite examples of Romanesque architecture. Back to Florence by 4pm
Day 9 – Florence
A free day to enjoy Florence and get in any last minute sightseeing or shopping. Or if you like, a cooking corse will be organized just for you!
Day 10 – ARRIVEDERCI ITALIA
After check out from the hotel, you will be picked up by our driver for the transfer to Florence airport. If you wish to be transferred to a different location please advise.
